WHAT! IT’S OCTOBER? OR, HOW TO GET RID OF A REALLY UGLY PAINTING.

Yep, October. College is getting even more intense, but I am almost to the half way point. OK, I have skirted the issue long enough. How to get rid of a really ugly painting. Anyone out there have any ideas? Uh, must be legal. Would love to hear some of your creative ideas on the subject. I am working on a possible solution, and if it works I will share the before and after pictures. And how I went about getting rid of a really ugly painting.

So let me hear from you and some of your creative ideas, funny, or serious.

As if starting a business, going to business classes through a wonderful program call North-coast Small Business Development Center (SBDC) is not enough! I am also in college full time carrying 13.5 units. Ok, that statement does answer the question. CRAZY!

I was given the opportunity to also do independent study from a locally known art professor, she does not do independent study very often. So I just had to jump at the chance.

I can see the light at the end of the tunnel, as far as obtaining my degree goes. Next spring should wrap it up, an”A.S.’ in Digital Media, also with an art focus.

May I encourage all you young people out there, ok old ones too. Don’t delay in getting your college degree, it is much easier when young.

My art focus for this year is the great modern master Georgia O’Keeffee. I am studying her biography and also her style in painting. I figure she painted subjects from the South-west, so I am going to paint the North-west. I often ask how would Georgia paint this subject.

In studying her life, I am finding little gems of information on how she painted her pictures, I believe she painted wet on wet, which is a technique I have been exploring the past several years.

Well, guess it is time for me to go, English paper due tomorrow. So to all of you artist, would be artist, college students, keep on exploring, learning, and living life. I will try and blog more often.

I started painting when I was very young, when my dad purchased art supplies from a fire sale. I recently moved to the inspiring Pacific Northwest. Where art is a major event each month.

Each first Saturday of the month in the city of Eureka, ca. there is an event that is called “Arts Alive”. where artists show their works either, in galleries or open their studios.

Music floats through the streets and museums open their doors for free. It makes for a wonderful evening with friends or family. Restaurants serve later, so there is always delicious food to enjoy.

So I am going to post what I have reacently done, and hope you will click on the link to my website, which as of today is still under construction.
